Given the hotel's name, its no surprise that this charming fin-de-siècle property is among the most centrally located in Zürich, with a prime location overlooking the River Limmat.

Completely renovated in 2001, the Central Plaza now offers extremely pleasant (contemporary) guest accommodation, with rooms decorated in subtle tones of cream, light beige and brown. Most offer a river view, while all are equipped with hair dryer, direct-dial telephone, modem connection, wireless LAN, radio, pay-TV, cable TV (with 40 channels including CNN and BBC) and mini-bar. In addition, non-smoking rooms are available upon request.

Elsewhere, the hotel's public areas are attractively styled in bright colours, while the Colonial Room, with views out over the Limmat, is a pleasant venue in which to take a relaxing evening drink (the bar has seating for up to 100 people with an adjoining veranda).

In addition, guests can enjoy lunch and dinner in the uniquely styled (and romantic) King's Cave Restaurant - a regally bedecked cellar with bar, fireplace, fountain, wine cellar, candlesticks and mirrors. For group dining, the the elegant RiverView Restaurant (on the first floor) overlooks the Limmat River and Central Square and is available for lunch and dinner banquets for up to 60 people.
