Where to Stay in Vienna...

For most visitors, the biggest problem with accommodation in Vienna is knowing just which of the city's many hotels to choose! Our site alone lists over eighty 4-star Vienna hotels and nearly forty of a 3-star rating. Consequently, despite Vienna being a popular all-year-round city, you'll usually find plenty of bargains, with frequent special offers at larger chain hotels (such as InterContinental, Sofitel, Radisson, Accor and Marriott) as well as smaller, family owned properties.

When settling on a neighbourhood, it's important to consider general location. The city's most expensive hotels are located in and around Ringstraße (including Stadtpark) with those close to the Hofburg, Stephansdom and Parlament carrying a price premium. Even then, however, properties such as Best Western's Hotel am Parkring and Hotel-Pension Arenberg have wonderful locations along with good value rates, so it certainly pays to check out our pages in full! 

For those on a weekend shopping trip to the city, Mariahilferstraße - the longest shopping street in Vienna - makes for an ideal base, with hotels such as the Tourotel Mariahilf, InterCityHotel Wien, and Ibis Wien Mariahilf Hotel all being good lodging choices.

For travellers on business at the United Nations or UNO City, you can either settle for downtown accommodation (with a trip of around 10-15 minutes by U-Bahn across the Danube) or choose a hotel in the immediate vicinity such as the Crowne Plaza Hotel Vienna or Tulip Inn Vienna Donau City.

Choosing from hotels slightly further afield will save you money, although the availability of public transport should be considered carefully. Fortunately, as Vienna has a first-class S-Bahn (commuter train), U-Bahn (subway) and tram network, even hotels in outlying districts enjoy good connections to the city centre. As a rule, check our listings to see which district the hotel is situated in. Central districts have lower numbers, whereas those on the outskirts are given higher numbers (there are 22 in total).

Once you're over the hurdle of deciding where roughly to stay, our guide makes from a wide-range of Vienna hotels easy.
