"Having entertained guests for over 100 years (with one of its first being American author Mark
Twain) the Hotel Ambassador has also played host to the likes of Marlene Dietrich, Theodore Roosevelt and Mick
Jagger.
Ideally situated just off Vienna's famous Kärntner
Straße, the Ambassador was fully renovated in 2001, with guests now being
able to choose from three categories of room namely; themed, Vienna Classic or business.
There are 37 Vienna Classic rooms in total, each mirroring the
charm and glamour of a traditional Viennese hotel. With an average size of 30m2, fine dark
wood and modern technology stand side by side in the light and airy rooms to form a
stylish ensemble that is capable of harmonising the modern and traditional.
Alternatively, 19 themed
rooms are dedicated to the memory of a personality in politics, art or culture, who
has stayed at the Ambassador. Most are furnished with restored antiquities, 100 year old parquet flooring and classic Viennese
'Lobmeyer' chandeliers. Average room size is a generous 35m2.
Lastly, busy executives can choose from one of 30 business rooms
(averaging 40m2 in size) with those on higher floors - namely the 5th - offering spectacular views over Vienna and partly to the
'Stephansdom' or the Viennese 'Staatsoper' (opera house). What's more, all rooms feature a generously laid out work
area and "always-on" broadband Internet connection.
The hotel also incorporates
one of the city's finest restaurants - "Mörwald in Ambassador" -
ensuring suitably inspired lunches and evening meals, while the Atriumbar offers a large variety of classics from all over the world, special cigar menus,
as well as in-house rum creations like vanilla-rum.
All in all an excellent choice. Recommended!"
