Widely regarded as one of Prague's finest art-house cinemas, the Kino Aero plays host to all
manner of European films, retrospectives, film festivals and off-the-wall programming. Located in
the suburbs of Žižkov, but easily reached by tram.

Focusing mainly upon European films (particularly French), Kino Budějovická also
shows popular Czech and US releases. Not the best cinema in town, although a location near to
Budějovická/Kačerov metro stations (and cheap ticket prices) make it worth seeking
out.

Found in the Spořilov district of Prague, the Edison shows mainly Czech films, with the
odd US release thrown in for good measure. Actually not far away from the Budějovická
cinema (listed above), although it's best to travel to Roztyly by metro and then take the 118 bus
to Hlavní.

Another art-house favourite, this time showing European releases, independent US films and a
good selection of home-grown material (with English subtitles). There's also a nice in-house
restaurant/bar, although if you do plan to eat here, it's best to book in advance.

location, being nicely situated just off Wenceslas Square.

Far removed from the plush multiplexes found elsewhere in Prague, this is the last of the
city's coffeehouse cinemas. And, although its mainly US releases that are shown here (critically
acclaimed ones at least), the Jalta's unique atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

Recently re-opened as a repertory and art-house cinema, the Oko (just like the Aero and MAT) offers
more diverse programming, including cult classics, independents and first-run European releases.
There's certainly a tangible enthusiasm here for staging top-notch world cinema, while plans are
also afoot to revamp the cinema's café and lobby areas in the near future.

One of the coolest cinemas in town, with a faded grandeur that reflects the Lucerna's historic
past. Seating over 500 people, the auditorium screens critically acclaimed movies from Europe and
the US, while a location just off Wenceslas Square makes planning an entire evening out a
breeze.

It's big, has nine screens, and could be anywhere in Europe. That said, the Cinema City Galaxie is
a first-rate theatre with excellent sound and visuals. All the latest blockbusters are screened
here, while a location next to Háje metro station makes it easy to reach.

Found on the site of the old Moskva cinema, the Ládví screens new and recent
releases from the US, with an emphasis on teen flicks or crowd pleasing horror movies. Some way out
of town, although trams 10 and 17 do a good job of ferrying punters from the city centre to
Střelničná.

Owned by Warner Bros. this popular multiplex (located in Smíchov) is handily placed next
to Anděl metro station. Of course, it's mainly US releases that are shown, although the
Anděl also regularly screens a small selection of European art house films

Located on the very outskirts of the city, Černý Most is the second of the Warner
Bros. "Village Cinemas" in Prague. With a swanky lobby area and state-of-the-art images and sound,
it's a pleasant place in which to catch a movie - although getting there is a touch difficult.
