A popular British high-street chain selling a varied range of sporting goods, including bikes,
footwear, clothing, fitness and golf. Specializing in football (soccer), prices for boots, gloves,
balls and bags are competitive, although as with other London stores, there are few reductions on
replica Premiership kits.

Having lost its royal warrant back in 2003, this huge sports store (which occupies a prime location at Piccadilly
Circus) is now owned by the expansion hungry Sports World International group. A once vast
selection of goods, which covered virtually every sport imaginable, has now been replaced
by a "pile it high, sell it cheap" philosophy. Indeed, the neatly laid out,
logically arranged departments of old have made way for ferociously loud music and bargain
bins galore. Surviving only in name, this once great store is now better value for money,
but sadly, has lost all of its charm.

A favoured haunt for overseas visitors after the latest Man Utd. or Arsenal shirts, Soccer
Scene is a real treasure trove for national and international club kits (also stocking a wide-range
of boots, footballs and retro shirts). Although prices are high (a Barcelona home shirt costs £54.99,
while Ajax is £39.99) there aren't too many shops in London, or the world for that matter,
selling Costa Rican or Slava Prague shirts!!
