Camden Passage just off Upper Street, Islington (not to be confused with the Camden Town markets)
is a good place to head if you've a penchant for antiques. With a mix of stalls, shops and an
enclosed mall, pitches are normally set up on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the passage's
permanent shops are open during the week. Of course, once you’ve finished browsing, take a
break in one of the many trendy bars and restaurants that line Upper Street. Note:

Definitely one for those with a few quid in the bank, The Furniture Cave is home to twenty or so
dealers, each with a specialist field such as Roman sculpture, objet d'rt or English furniture.
Among those dealers with a web presence, Anthony Redmile carries decorative lighting, furniture, wall friezes, vases and
architectural heads/busts, while Christopher Preston supplies internal/external brass furniture,
knobs and handles. All very fashionable, very tasteful and very King's Road.

London. Situated in the heart of the city's West End, the market's grand 19th-century premises
provide an atmospheric setting in which to browse for a bargain. Although an undoubted mecca for
fine jewellery, Gray's will not disappoint those after collectables, objet d'art, porcelain and

Describing itself as the 'world's best kept secret', The London Silver Vaults in Chancery Lane are
housed within a unique underground building that's home to over 30 silver dealers. Originally a
safe-deposit premises, the Silver Vaults came into existence after WWII, fulfilling a need by local
dealers for new premises because of major bomb damage in the surrounding area.
Today the Vaults offer a wide-ranging selection of both British and overseas silverware including
jewellery, tea-sets and objets d'art. What's more, with prices starting at reasonable levels, even
casual browsers can make a purchase without having to consult their bank manager beforehand.

As the name suggests, the company's showroom is housed within a late 19th-century picture palace on
