Aside from London City Airport, London
Luton is the capital's
smallest airport handling some 6.5 million passengers per year. Scheduled services
from easyJet, Ryanair and Monarch
make up the bulk of flights here, although Thomsonfly
(Luton's longest serving resident, under its previous guise as Brittannia Airways) is among the world's largest
charter airlines.
To travel into London by rail, First
Capital Connect offer a fast and convenient service between Parkway Station and London
King's Cross (the journey takes approx. 30 minutes and costs £10 for a
single fare). Transfers are made all the more easy by a frequent shuttle bus service
to/from Parkway
station, enabling you to get there from the airport terminal in around five minutes.
Alternatively, Greenline's 757 coach service runs to/from Victoria
Coach Station and takes approximately 1hr 20 mins. Or, if you plan to drive, airport car
parking (both short-stay and long-stay) is available on-site, with companies such as Park
and Go providing discount rates for secure parking, plus meet and
greet services. In addition,

Black cab services into central London cost approx. £70

for further details). Although expensive, booking in advance not only helps
avoid queuing, but also means you'll be met in arrivals by a
driver (as flights are monitored by their reservation staff) who'll help
carry your luggage to the vehicle. A cheaper alternative, however, is to use a licensed mini-cab
