Whether it's going to see a show
in the West End, attending a gig or dancing the night away at a swanky downtown club, Londoners
certainly take their evenings out seriously. Indeed, the sheer number of theatres, concert halls, clubs,
cinemas and sporting stadia provide a wealth of opportunities in which to explore the city after
dark. For those after a dose of culture, the Barbican centre is a feast for classical music lovers,
while the theatres of London's West End are only beaten by New York's Broadway. Elsewhere,
top-notch comedy clubs compete with state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas and concert venues for less
expensive nights out.
Our entertainment guide gives the low-down on current shows and events, gigs,
the best (or indeed worst) clubs to visit, local cinemas and sporting events. And, as we've
including everything from jazz venues to casinos there's really no excuse to not take up our
recommendations!
Information on restaurants, bars and pubs in London can be found in our food and drink section.
Forthcoming London Events
In addition to our main entertainment pages, we've also been busy updating a
list of forthcoming events in London during 2008. As well as
the many one off events taking place, descriptions for long established events such as the Notting
Hill Carnival are also included.
