Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, Description/Room Details:

As a perennial favourite for regular visitors to Las Vegas, the Mandalay Bay is an upscale property located towards the southern end of the famous Strip and about 2 miles from McCarran International Airport.

Enter the hotel and you'll be greeted by a lavish, imposing and thoroughly impressive lobby, complete with gleaming marble and its very own aquarium.

Guestrooms are no less impressive, being spacious and tastefully furnished. As for the bathrooms, many believe them to be among the best on the Strip. Certainly, in terms of size they're huge, with the average-sized Deluxe Room being a princely 500 sq. ft, while slightly sunken tubs, a good selection of toiletries, double sinks, separate water closets and imported stone floors, make bath time an event in itself.

Deluxe Rooms also feature oversize beds and armoires, his/hers closets (lit), two phone lines with data port capabilities, a 27" television, floor to ceiling windows and iron/ironing board.

In addition to the generous amenities of deluxe guestroom, the Mandalay Bay's range of Suites vary in size from 690 to 6,670 square feet and include his/hers closets (lit), 32" television, oversize beds and armoires, two phone lines with data port capabilities, floor to ceiling windows, iron/ironing board, imported stone floors and counters, make-up mirror and blow dryer, separate spa tub and shower.

Another bonus for guests staying at the Mandalay Bay is that you don't have to walk through the casino to reach public areas or to access guest-room elevators (as opposed to the lengthy jaunt in a number of other upscale properties).

Elsewhere on site, the hotel's pool area is a popular draw, being well-equipped and neatly styled and, with no fewer than four pools guests can enjoy the pleasant wave pool, or float along happily in the lazy river.

Dining options at the Mandalay Bay also impress, with each offering whimsical and imaginative decor and an excellent choice of dishes. Here, you'll find (among others) Aureole, a branch of Charlie Palmer's famous New York City restaurant, rumjungle - where the all-you-can-eat, multi-course Brazilian feast is served on skewers, the House of Blues Restaurant (serving southern specialties with a Cajun/Creole accent) and Wolfgang Puck's Trattoria Del Lupo which recreates the feel of a small Italian piazza.

As far as entertainment is concerned, the House of Blues is arguably the best place in town to catch a rock band. In addition, the Mandalay Bay has a separate arena (inaugurated by none other than Luciano Pavarotti) which currently stages Mamma Mia! - the Broadway musical of ABBA songs. In addition, you'll find a well-equipped casino featuring a good selection of slots, video poker and table games, plus three bars (often with live music) in which to relax and take a drink or two in the evening.

Elsewhere, the Mandalay Bay's health club is equipped with the very latest equipment (although the separate usage charge levied is high), while the spa area proper - complete with hot and warm pools, plus cold plunge pool - mirrors those of the Turkish spas in such countries as Hungary, Europe. Of course, all the usual wraps, facial treatments, pedicures and massages are available, along with the intriguingly named "Volcanic Dusk Body Treatment"

The Las Vegas Monorail system connects the Mandalay Bay with Luxor and Excalibur, which are located at the very heart of the Strip, allowing easy access to all the city has to offer...more overview information >>
