Located in the Sahara Hotel Resort & Casino, the NASCAR Cafe restaurant not only houses twenty authentic NASCAR stock cars, but also Cyber Speedway (which allows racers to take charge of 3/4 size virtual stock car and race around either the Las Vegas Motor Speedway or the streets of the city) along with the adrenalin packed SPEED - The Ride!

Utilizing modern technology in the form of linear induction motors (allowing the roller coaster to quickly gain speeds through magnetic force) The Ride reaches speeds of up to 70 mph through a combination of loops, sweeps and a dizzying 90 degree incline. Well-worth visiting.

Lion Habitat (MGM Grand Hotel and Casino)

3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109, Tel: (702) 891-7777, Website: www.mgmgrand.com, Open daily from 11am-10pm, Admission complimentary
A one-of-a-kind lion habitat that incorporates a multilevel viewing enclosure allowing visitors to see lions from MGM's 8.5-acre ranch (31 lions in total are located some 12 miles from the hotel). Each lion is usually accompanied by a trainer who, as well as keeping the lions occupied, carries out feeding duties. Depending on who's in residence you may get to see a solitary male, several youngsters or a larger group. The attraction is hugely popular though, so be prepared for endless shuffling in order to gain a decent view.

Manhattan Express (New York-New York Hotel and Casino)

3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, 89109, Tel: (702) 740-6969, Website: www.nynyhotelcasino.com
Arguably the best of New York, New York's many attractions, the Manhattan Express takes thrill-seekers on a ride that swoops, twists, loops and dives around the resort's perimeter.

Rising some 203 feet before descending into a stomach churning 144 ft dive, cars reach a top speed of 67 mph and flying past replica buildings of the hotel's Manhattan skyline, including the Statue Of Liberty. The action is followed by the "Twist and Dive" where riders experience a "heartline" spin. This simulates a barrel-roll in a jet fighter, rolling them over 180 degrees and allows passengers to experience the thrills of negative g's. Accessible via MGM Grand Station.

Shark Reef (Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino)

3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, Tel: (702) 632-4555, Website: www.mandalaybay.com, Open daily from 10am-11pm (last admission 10pm),
With several thousand dangerous, unusual and exotic animals, the Shark Reef exhibition draws together over 100 species from the world's most tropical waters. Holding some 2 million gallons of seawater in total, you'll find here golden crocodiles, water monitors, stingrays, small sharks, and starfish, while in the depths of a sunken galleon visitors can watch sharks navigate around the vessel, with hammerheads and bonnetheads being just two types of shark on display.

The Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat

3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109, Tel: (702) 791-7111, Website: www.siegfriedandroy.com and www.mirage.com, Open daily: 11am-5.30pm on weekdays, 10am-5.30pm at weekends, Admission: $15.00 adults, $10.00 for children aged 4-12 (children aged 3 or under go free when accompanied by an adult)
Home to a panther, white lions, Bengal tigers, white tigers and a four-ton Asian elephant, Siegfried & Roy's Las Vegas attraction allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of these rare animals, albeit within the confines of a relatively small space, together with a lavishly bedecked "Secret Garden" with beautifully created foliage and Indian/Asian-themed architecture.

Adjacent is the The Dolphin Habitat which, as well as providing visitors with educational background on marine mammals and their environment, serves as a healthy and nurturing environment for a group of bottlenosed dolphins.

Containing more than 2.5 million gallons of water, the habitat's four connecting pools incorporate a sandy bottom and artificial coral reef system, while the man-made seawater is cycled and cleaned every 2 hours.

As well as flips, jumps and dolphins playing ball, you can (if lucky) witness dolphins being fed by their trainers. It's a truly inspiring sight and one which is worth the entrance fee alone.
