New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

With pride of place in the museum’s main atrium taken by its latest acquisition, Stan the Tyrannosaurus rex (the second largest full skeleton to have been found anywhere in the world) it’s not surprising to learn that New Mexico is dinosaur country. Hence, a good number of exhibits focus upon the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, while other permanent exhibition halls cover the Ice Age, volcanos and New Mexico’s seacoast.
Elsewhere, the DynaTheater - a high-tech interactive experience - puts you in amongst the action on a 65 x 49 foot screen, while the planetarium’s state-of-the-art 3D immersive reality tools and astronomical data reveal the cosmos to visitors in stunning detail.
