Founded in 1932, the Cathedral Museum is situated just across from Stephansdom and housed on the first floor of the Zwetllhof (which was itself once an Abbey for the Cistercian Order).

With a large portion of the cathedral’s most valuable treasures and art on display here, you’ll find ecclesiastical items dating from the thirteenth century, including a selection of monstrances, reliquaries and alterpieces (the pick of which are two beautifully ornate Syrian flasks and the fine Passion alter made in Antwerp). In addition, there are numerous art works from the Baroque.
