Public Toilets (Restrooms) in Vienna

Being caught short in Vienna isn’t something that should easily happen nowadays. For this, dear readers, is a city boasting with 340 public conveniences, each of which (as CNN helpfully pointed) can be individually pinpointed on the city’s very own website. Obviously a PDA or WAP version would have been ideal, but the powers that be have still provided detailed maps :)

Signed WC, they’re usually open from 9am-7pm, although those in U-Bahn stations may not be open all the time. Elsewhere, toilets in bars and beer cellars are often free, although they tend not to be as clean as those with an attendant.

Expect to pay €0.40 for the privilege, although men’s urinals are usually free. And, for those who don’t know, Damen means ladies and Herren means gentlemen.
