Travelling by Coach to Vienna
UK Travellers
Although slower than a train journey to Austria, coaches do offer the benefit of cheap fares and flexible ticket options. Eurolines, Tel: 01582 400694 currently charge £77 (in high season) for an adult single to Vienna, while other fares include: adult return £107; child return £72 and senior return £100. Their website also features a range of promotional fares offering significant reductions over standard prices (via an online booking facility) with separate 15 day advanced purchase tickets giving roughly a 20% reduction. Note: the above prices are for direct services with Eurolines. Some routes, which include a change in Brussels, may add to the overall price of a single/return ticket.
Services to Vienna run from London Victoria and arrive at Suedtirolerplatz 16 (coach 190 only) while coach 191 arrives at Erberg U-Bahn station. Check-in is one hour before departure and baggage is limited to one suitcase plus hand luggage.

European Travellers
For journeys to Vienna from Europe, one of the best options currently available is Busabout. With a pan-European network covering 70 destinations, it allows you to travel the continent by pre-booking each leg of your journey with a Busabout guide, or via the company’s own website. In addition, your guide can phone ahead on a specific part of the journey to help organise accommodation (you can also book further in advance if required).
What’s more the service is flexible enough to not only permit night stops, but day stops too (meaning you can hop off a bus and re-join the network at a later date).
Alternatively, Eurolines offer their own pass, valid for 15, 30 or 60 days. Other ticket options include adult, youth, senior citizen and child singles/returns as well as open draw (flexible) tickets. On longer routes (such as to Vienna, the company employs two alternating drivers, thus allowing for an almost uninterrupted journey, save for an occasional meal break. The company’s website at www.eurolines.com also features a range of promotional fares offering significant reductions over their standard prices (via an online booking facility).
