Ernst Fuchs Museum
Hüttelbergstraße 26, A-1140, Wien, Tel: 914 8575, Website: www.ernstfuchs-zentrum.com, U-Bahn: Hütteldorf then bus 148 to "Camping West"
The museum is housed in a villa designed by the celebrated secessionist architect Otto Wagner. Used as a summer house by Wagner’s family in 1888 it was, at one stage, earmarked for demolition, although Fuchs saved the building by purchasing it in 1972. Today it serves as a fitting location for exhibitions of his own artwork and sculpture. Fuchs’s work draws on a number of artistic styles, from the middle ages to modern times, with later compositions emphasising his use of bright colours (a style dubbed "Fantastic Realism").
Rooms in the villa contain a mixture of artwork and sculpture, with additional sculptures within the museum’s grounds. Elsewhere, visitors will find it hard to miss the Nymphaeum pump room, also situated in the garden. Discount entry with a Vienna Card.
