The Danube Tower or Donauturm is located in Donaupark (see above) and was built for the International Garden Show of 1964. The 252 metre high structure, which was designed by architect Hans Lintl, incorporates modern lifts that whisk visitors up to the tower’s observation deck (some 150 metres up).
Affording excellent views of Vienna and beyond, you can also climb a futher flight of stairs to the revolving restaurant, where a meal or cup of coffee is accompanied by the slowly changing panorama.
