Based in Harfen Haus (one of the oldest buildings in the city) the museum chronicles the development of timepieces from the fifteenth century to date. Holding a collection of over 3500 clocks and watches, around 1000 are on display to visitors at any one time.

The collection has a strong Austrian flavour, with exhibits from the Biedermeier period, regional timepieces (including cuckoo clocks) and richly ornate clocks in keeping with the wealth and prosperity of the Habsburg age. Discount entry with a Vienna Card.
