Well-worth a visit if you plan to tour the Belvedere Palaces, the galleries (housed in both the Upper and Lower Palaces) are home to important domestic works of art dating back to the 16th century, as well as international pieces too.
Of particular note are works from the 19th and 20th centuries (mostly displayed in the Upper Belvedere), including pieces by the influential Gustav Klimt - one of a group of inspirational artists who formed the Secessionist movement in Vienna at the turn-of-the-20th-century. Other important secessionist works on display here include those by Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka. Discount entry with a Vienna Card.
