One of the city’s extremely popular Trzesniewski sandwich bars that sell traditional Viennese open sandwiches. The original Trzesniewski opened as a snackbar in 1902 and there are now eight outlets in the city, of which this is probably the busiest. In all, there are more than 20 different types of sandwich to choose from, many of which are cream cheese (gervais) based. Toppings include salmon, herring, sausage, egg and seafood, with each sandwich comprising of a bread strip laden with your choice of topping. A few stand-up tables are found in the shop, though most people take their sandwiches away in a handy cardboard container.
