Budapest Entertainment Introduction

Palace of Arts, Budapest

You are in: Budapest Guide » Budapest Entertainment Next Page »

While Budapest isn't a city famed for its nightlife, the combination of a first rate public transport system and cheap prices make it one well-worth exploring after dark. For those after a dose of culture, a visit to the city's majestic State Opera House makes for an unforgettable evening, while Budapest's love affair with classical music ensures that orchestras and venues are of the highest standard.

However, if you're more interested in Techno than Tchaikovsky, we give the low-down on the best (or worst) clubs to visit, while a comprehensive cinema guide is also included for filmgoers. There are also plenty of other ideas for a fun night out, ranging from theatres and jazz venues to casinos and rock/pop events.

And don't forget our dedicated sport page covers everything from Hungarian football to Formula 1 motor racing. Information on bars and pubs in Budapest can be found in our food and drink section.

Forthcoming Budapest Events

In addition to our main entertainment pages, we've also been busy updating a list of forthcoming events in Budapest during 2008. As well as the many 'one off' events taking place, descriptions for long established events such as the Budapest Spring Festival, St. Stephen's Day and Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix are also included.
