"While there's been a guest house on this site since 1872, the latter day version Erzsébet is
a fairly modern hotel (built 1985) operated by the Danubius hotel chain. Since then, the hotel has been renovated several
times and today it preserves only its excellent traditions from its 100-year-old past.
All 123 guest rooms are decorated in warm, vivid colours and feature air-conditioning
(with individual
climate control), sound-proofed windows, direct-dial telephone, Internet access, colour TV with
satellite channels/pay-movies and mini-bar.
The property also offers 7 connecting rooms and 16 non-smoking rooms.
Also on site, you'll find the Restaurant Erzsébet, which offers a
rich buffet breakfast every morning between 7 and 10am and the Sissi Snack & Drink Bar
where Hungarian and international drinks are served (along with hot/cold
meals and light snacks). Additional services include laundry and valet, room service, baby-sitter
(upon request), Internet Corner, 24-hour reception service, wake-up service, currency
exchange, safe, car rental, airport transfer service, sightseeing tours and parking
(limited number of spaces).
In summary, a well-maintained, likeable property with an excellent downtown
location. Although the Erzsébet is situated on a busy thoroughfare (in Pest), noise isn't
a problem thanks to decent sound-proofing. Lots of good quality eateries in the immediate
vicinity, while the Danube embankment is just 5 minutes walk away"
