London Tourist Board Official Web Site
	Impressive web presence from the LTB which covers everything from accommodation to travel in London. With an extensive database that allows for easy planning of sightseeing, shopping and day trips in the capital, it's certainly a great resource for tourists and locals alike. Also features in-depth sections covering practical and disabled information. Recommended.

Visit Britain www.visitbritain.com	The official British Tourist Authority website contains a huge amount of information relating not just to London but Britain in general. Tailored to provide information that's relevant for the country you're travelling from (e.g. flight details, tour programmes etc.) the website also provides an excellent searchable database of events during the year. Recommended.
Travel England www.travelengland.org.uk	Comprehensive website of the English Tourism Council which, as well as listing places of interest, provides a searchable database of English Tourist Information Centres.
Historic Royal Palaces www.hrp.org.uk	An excellent resource for learning more on London's Royal Palaces, the website not only provides general information about each visitor attraction, but a historical overview and events diary for the different locations too.
UK Internet Directories
Lycos www.lycos.co.uk	Aside from Google, Lycos is one of the most reliable Internet search engines. Fast and accurate, it provides results by way of both UK and worldwide listings.
Scoot www.scoot.co.uk	Ultra-fast infomediary which now features a cinema and company name finder. Results for each business include website links and a useful street map facility.
Yell www.yell.co.uk	If you need a plumber at midnight, then Yell is the place to come. With a directory that covers everything from cinema to shopping, you need look no further when trying to find services in London.

BBC www.bbc.co.uk	The world's largest media site covers breaking UK news stories, as well as comprehensive coverage from North America, Europe and Asia. With radio broadcasts and video clips also available, the BBC have pulled off the difficult juggling act of having a technologically advanced online presence which also caters for nearly every type of browser. Splendid.

Hotels London Hotels London	Excellent website which has an uncluttered and easy to use layout. With different sections for each type of accommodation, hotel listings include room prices and facilities along with photographs of the individual property. Reservations, which can be made online, include special offers and last minute deals not available from the hotels directly.
Hotel Booker Hotel Booker	A well laid out site with a good selection of hotels and detailed information on each property. As well as offering decent discounts and a range of special offers, further information on any given hotel can be obtained by e-mailing the company.
Lastminute.com www.lastminute.com	Although Lastminute.com caters mainly for overseas breaks and hotels, great deals can also be found for luxury weekends in London (with savings of up to 70% on top hotels in and around Covent Garden/Leicester Square, Soho, Bloomsbury and Mayfair).

London Town www.londontown.com	Long established London website which remains unsurpassed for both the quality and sheer amount of information on offer. Lots of good commercial/business listings, plus comprehensive sights and events sections.
Virtual London www.virtual-london.com	Large, well-organised website with in-depth information on London sights, museums, galleries and other attractions. Even more impressive are Virtual London's pages on days out of London, surviving in London and cockney rhyming slang! Recommended.
Information Britain www.information-britain.co.uk	Extremely comprehensive site which covers Great Britain, the Channel Islands and parts of Ireland. As well as being logically ordered with county links to pages containing details about famous places, attractions and lodging, there's even a 'British Questions' section in which visitors can submit their travel queries. Very useful indeed.

24hr Museum www.24hourmuseum.org.uk	Describing itself as the "gateway to over 2,500 UK museums", the 24hr Museum is a truly useful resource that's chock full of ideas for a great day out. Simply enter a location, choose from a list of museums and then read about entry times, facilities and collection details. With website links to the vast majority of museums listed, this site is a must visit.
