www.bbc.co.uk.news	Arguably the most reliable and up to date news service on the Internet, the BBC's website covers stories from all over the globe. A 'low-graphics' version ensures that articles can be accessed almost immediately, whilst the website also accommodates those with older browsers set at 640 x 480 resolution. Recommended.
www.bbc.co.uk/weather	Excellent website for global daily and five-day forecasts.
www.cnn.com	Huge portal from the Cable News Network. No frills layout means that stories can be accessed quickly and easily, although World coverage is not nearly as comprehensive as that of the BBC's website.
www.weatherchannel.com	US and worldwide weather information from the American weather TV station.

Air Canada	A quick loading website which features a 'Vacation Packages' section together with an online fare checker and travel planning pages.
American Airlines	A classy looking website which features one of the fastest online fare calculators anywhere on the Internet. Everything is covered here, although the many ticket options available can be a bit overwhelming at first.
British Airways	As well as flight schedules and online booking, the British Airways site has worldwide contact numbers, online check-in (for Executive Club flyers) and city mini-guides for 99 destinations.
Delta	No frills website, which is nonetheless well-laid out and extremely easy to use. Covers reservations, flight schedules, upgrades, ticketing rules and itineraries.
Lufthansa	Germany's national carrier has an easy to use website with country specific portals which feature online booking, timetables, arrival/departure information and a 'web specials' page.
Singapore Airlines	Straightforward, easy to use website, for one of the world's most highly regarded airlines.
United Airlines	As well as the usual online booking and flight information services, United's website has over 25 worldwide portals, travel planning/support and a special 'E-deals' section.
Virgin Atlantic	A colourful, modern looking website from Sir Richard Branson's Virgin group. With a string of airline awards to their name, Virgin Atlantic have probably the best reputation for in-flight service of any Atlantic carrier. A competitively priced alternative to more established airlines such as BA and American.

www.fodors.com	Impressive web presence from this highly regarded company which produce written travel companions for popular destinations around the world. A clear, easy to use layout is matched by highly-readable information, plus extremely useful "rant & raves" and "travel talk" forums.
www.lonelyplanet.com	A hip looking, well-designed site, which offers plenty of information not just on Budapest and London but other popular European destinations such as Prague and Vienna. Each destination includes plenty of useful links and, if you want to even know more about the country, then a published written guide is also available
www.timeout.com	With city guides covering European, US and Asian destinations, Timeout's website is a large, well-organised affair, offering sections on shopping and entertainment as well as interviews and month by month listings. Written versions of the company's own guides are also available to buy online.
www.frommers.com	Offers a wide-range of information on cities around the globe, with impartial listings on the best hotels and restaurants. The site's simple layout ensures that pages load quickly and are easy to navigate.
