Established in 1998, the aim of the first 'Globewalker' site was to provide
the best free travel information on the Internet for some of the world's most exciting city
destinations. After five successful years of operation, we're
currently extending our portfolio of guides to include Vienna, Zurich and other European cities under
the new name of Talking Cities. Owned and maintained by Talking Webs in Horsham, England, we
thoroughly research and check information before it's published onto our site, whilst also making
sure that entries and listings are kept up-to-date.
Although sponsorship and advertising are accepted to fund the cost of
developing and maintaining our guides, the information given on these pages has been written
impartially. That is to say, our main text pages (including featured hotels) are put together
before any form of advertising is accepted, so that recommendations we make to you are drawn from
sound experience. Where denoted, visits to hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars and tourist attractions
were conducted anonymously and without favour in the autumn/winter of 2007 (with a policy to
regularly re-visit listed establishments when necessary).
